Intro to Tokyo Summer Olympics, SS2020 (2021).

The goal was to make history for PUMA; to create something timeless, classic and beautiful, to focus on engineering the garment utilising as few seams as possible. We wanted to highlight our technologies as the key focal points (our engineered jacquard and heat transfer wind-tunnel brushes), and celebrate the pride of each country designed for by enhancing the saturation of the respected country’s colours.

My task was to design the On Track, Training and Village Wear Apparel for fourteen PUMA-sponsored countries, collections which consist of what the athletes will perform in, train in during the season and relax in pre and post competition.

*Please note that South Africa and Nigeria were later signed and added to the line up, hence they were not visible at the initial design reviews.

This was one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever had the opportunity to work on, and one that I am most proud of. It was the largest collaborative team effort I’ve ever experienced and am incredibly thankful to have been a part of the magic.
